The maternal characteristics of Romanov - X ewes will change the way you view commercial lamb production. ½ Romanov ewes are exceptional mothers, and in our experience will lamb at 275-280%. Many of these ewes will raise quads; most will raise triplets when provided with high quality feed. Even just 25% Romanov in our ewes will give us 230-240% lambed and raised. This high performance ewe is achieved with no decrease in carcass quality when bred back to a top quality terminal sire such as a Charollais. The vigor of Romanov -X lambs will help improve lamb survival during inclement weather. Their relatively light bone structure leads to remarkable ease of lambing. If you already have a carcass sire then consider adding Romanov - X ewes to your ewe flock or choose a Romanov ram to use on your commercial ewe flock. The resulting 50% Romanov ewe lambs will be a productive addition to your flock.
